If you have already uploaded a certificate of a particular type, and review is pending, you will NOT need to upload the same certificate in another program.  Instead, once the certificate is approved, it will count for ALL programs and allow you to proceed.  If a certificate is denied, you will need to upload a new certificate in any program to repeat the process.

Details for each type of certificate are provided below, but in general please note that:

1. For 2023 and 2024, an approved AHIP will allow you to bypass Compliance and FWA requirements, but the AHIP must be uploaded as an AHIP and cannot be uploaded as a Compliance or FWA certificate
2. Compliance training is not the same as Fraud Waste and Abuse training
3. If you take Compliance training or Fraud Waste and Abuse training in Miramar:Agent for one plan, it will transfer to other plans automatically - do not upload a Miramar:Agent certificate of completion

Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA) Training

This certificate can only be received by taking the CMS FWA Training on the Medicare Learning Network (MLN) at Combating Medicare Parts C and D Fraud, Waste, & Abuse .  The name of the course is "Combating Medicare Parts C and D Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (May 2022) (Contact hours: 30 min.)".

You may also take through another source, but the other source MUST indicate that the training provided matches CMS content and was not modified to be accepted.

If you don't have a CMS certificate (or approved AHIP for 2024), you will be able to take training within the program.

While FWA Training does not have benefit years like annual Medicare training, it has to be completed annually.  For 2023 benefit year programs, training must have been taken after 1/1/2023 to be accepted.  For 2024 benefit year programs, training must have been taken after July 1, 2024 to be accepted.

Do not upload a Miramar:Agent or AHIP certificate for this step.

AHIP

This certificate is provided by AHIP upon completion of their Medicare Core training.  Each plan determines if they accept this certificate to complete Core Medicare training requirements.

Please note: If AHIP training is taken in Spanish and a Spanish certificate is presented, it will be approved by Convey staff beginning benefit year 2020.

Also note: A 2024 certificate may be uploaded to a 2023 program.  However, be aware that it will be stored as a "2023 certificate" and you will need to upload again as a "2024 certificate" in 2023 programs.

PinPoint

This certificate is provided by PinPoint upon completion of their Medicare Core training.  Each plan determines if they accept this certificate to complete Core Medicare training requirements.

NABIP

This certificate is provided by National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals (NABIP) upon completion of their Medicare Core training.  Each plan determines if they accept this certificate to complete Core Medicare training requirements.
